- First off, this shot captures something really special. A sunset? Yes. But not just any evening sky; this was the LAST bit of sunset/sunrise I saw for about a week while in Indiana. *shudder* Having a gray overcast sky ALL day was driving me crazy. (Terrible lighting for many shots.) Fortunately for me, the sky opened up on my LAST day there and I was able to enjoy it once more.
- The twigs and leaves aren't clutter, they're a natural border.
- Please let me know what you think of the new bordering style. It's nothing radically different, but still a change. Thoughts?
Hey,
Know I know I already comented but, to tell you the truth this shot looks new to me :looks away: Jesus, I've seen three lizards in my house in the past 5 minutes i swear. Ok sorry, I thought I would just note that.
Anyways, I really do enjoy how this shot captures an almost tan and blue gradient. It's very subtle because of the clouds that you almost have to look for it. Very few photos of sunsets will do that. Normally they kind of have some over powering red color to them. So, this tan/orange to blue gradient is a very nice change.
And I don't know if it's just that I'm freshly awaken or what but, I have to retract what I said about the border before. I don't really like it. The Problem with me is that it doesn't really seem like a border if the picture looks like it's above your border. Something't like that its kind of hard to pull off successfully ( not that it can't be done). And by the looks of it, it doesn't seem like thats what you intended, but your border has a little optical illusion to it. At one look it seems like the border is above the photo and at another look it seems like the photo is above your border (in terms of layering) and it's all because of that pesky drop shadow effect.
phew, I feel much better now. I like it when my comments may actually have some use to them instead of just a few stupid words... I need to learn to comment so that its a few stupid words, but with the same effect of a long paragraph or two.
I just noticed that there are tons of Jark or Jark related emoticons...scary.
You border critiquing mofo! Good points, though...I think I've done my best to avoid that pesky drop shadow. Unless used perfectly, it's quite distracting.
I only do it to you Honestly, If I made a border lthis useful I'de be very content with myself. It's just that I know you actually care what people say and try to improve from it. I'm trying to train you grasshopper. :cough: I'm tired. Can you tell?
I love the framing, I think you have done a really good job. It's not easy to sillhouette branches at sunset, but doing that whilst sing them as a border is even better.
the border green/grey/whatever works and the dimensions of the borders are fine
the only two things I would suggest are making the transition of picture to border much more solid (aka no shadowing) and changing the font of the caption/title.
the font placement is nice, but the font is too casual for the picture
