Escapist

+ I love this shot for all sorts of reasons. First of all, this was my first photoshoot with a model using the D60. This image is actually a crop from the original image. (A 3000x2000 source lets you do that. ) I'm also quite excited because it's Bonnie! I've wanted her to model for quite some time now and we finally got to do it last night.

+ We took a trip to downtown Orlando and were walking around Lake Eola for a while. I snapped a shot and was struck by its warmth and boldness. From that moment on, it was a furry of flash and glance. (People thought we were pros, bwuahahaha) ...then my flash unit died. Fortunately, I got about 25 shots from which to work. The first half of them were annoyingly blurry; apparently I can't focus while using a tripod. The rest were great and beautiful and fun and, well, just worth every bit of the night.

+ As you can tell, I edited this one to give it the regal look. I wanted to represent her timeless beauty and, hopefully, it worked. The editing is an extra layer with: gaussian blur of original photo, toned blue, and layer properties set to burn. Pretty simple, actually.
