Kaley and Mitch : The Fort by achfoo Kaley and Mitch : The Fort by achfoo
+ Say hello to Kaley & Mitch, friends of a Nick, and soon-to-be-in-11-months, seasoned clients of Root Photography. (And by that I mean we'll be shooting their wedding! :)) These kids made for such a great engagement session. Jensey and I travelled out to New Smyrna Beach to spend a few hours with them and came home with some beautiful photographs. (And we found a couple great spots for future sessions.)

+ Hopefully I'll get around to sharing more from this session, but who knows. So for now, enjoy it and let me know what you think! :)

+ Edits: Custom vignette, warmed the photo up, curves, levels, blah blah, the typical actions to make it go pop!

+ Enjoy!

Oh wow. This is the first time I've ever seen the fort used in anything, romantic/wedding alike. It's pretty neat to see familiar places of New Smyrna in work here on deviantArt. I, myself am from New Smyrna. (Hence, the name)

I always saw the old fort as just another form of local history and never actually considered using it in my bit of amateur photography. (I'm still learning) But the way you used it, brilliant. I love this and I'm sure the happy couple love it as well.

I'll be sure to keep you in mind for future...ahem....wedding events.

Ahah. Focus shots are my favorite.

Just enough contrast to accent the couple, yet the blending flows together nicely. Earthy towns rock.

I especially like the feel of the focus where the middle is clear, with blurry background AND foreground. ;D <3 it.

Really nice mood and atmosphere. The colors are unique; nothing I've seen before. I recently went to New Smyrna and captured some film shots, but I need to scan them; well, print them first, then scan. :)
