+ Pardon the simple titles. :lmao:

+ This is my absolute favorite time of day for any wedding. The stress of the ceremony is over, the hectic group photos are finished, and now it's time for fun. For about 20 minutes, we took Sarah & Dan down by the lake right at the golden hour. The light was beautiful!! Not much more to say here, we found the gazebo, set up the shot and there you go.

+ Enjoy!

Great shilouetted scenery around a typical wedding shot, but this one stands out to me! The overexposed background makes a good backdrop to their faces and facial expressions.

your wedding shots come out really good lol. what a simple comment. But its like true lol. They have this young spunk to them, yet they come out so classy and fresh. Yet, like this one, makes a great classic to have.

What do you think of the new nikon d80 for wedding? i have to play with one for a while, and im just looking for any pointers i can get. I know the lens is awesome, suppose to be like the one for d200. I might have to be in a wedding soon, not as a job, just gonna take my big thing to see what i can do. I stay out of the hired pro's way though. ;)

Thanks so much for the kind words! :) I always hoped our images appeared fresh yet classy.

I can't really speak for the D80 since I've never used it, but for starting out, I'm sure it'd do the job nicely. For most people, especially those doing wedding photography as a hobby, the D70/80 and Canon Rebel cameras work well enough. Image quality is fine and performance/speed is usually good enough. However, as your skills grow, so does your need for a camera that can function as quickly as you can. And that, in my opinion, is where the likes of the 30D or D200 come in. The interfaces (and general camera performance) are much greater and can better serve the need of a pro. Don't get me wrong, having quality glass is key, but having a camera that can work well under the demands of wedding photography is very important in many ways.

I'm sure my answer went far beyond what was useful to say. =P Sorry, I tend to get carried away. Anyways, let me know if you have any questions!!

Your answer was most excellent. And unfortunately, im a big talker, so we can probably go on and on about this stuff for ages if we had the time. I have to admit, using the D80 is incredible. I think it has amazing power. Its hardly possible yet for me to imagine needed even better lol. I have read a review and read information on d200 though to suspect that yes, it probably can help, with the setting display alone it looks worth it, as all the information needed is available immediately. Luckily with the d80 they took a few of the d200 awesome features and slid them in there. Im guessing since they phasing the d200 out, the d300 or wateva is next is going to be greatness.

My only dilemma so far has been silhouttes. What exactly to do with them. How can i correctly expose for the sky and the person at the same time. Is it possibly? I've read some people admit to not being able to get both, either or, but is there a way? is the best way to do it, using a flash as fill light?

I'll surely let you know how the upcoming wedding goes. I have to make due with being half equipped status, but i'll do my best. Im still saving up for the rest of the equipment, but my friend unfortunately really can't afford the pros end, trust me i tried talking her into it heavily, but she insisted I do it. I thinks its because i shot one wedding with a P&S, photoshopped until my eyes bled and she really liked the results in the end. Anyway, wish me luck!

Yes, sorry. Like i said, i can certainly talk about photography forever. But if you have some spare time to answer, its highly appreciated.

wow her gown is beautiful from this angle. i love it's colours.. haha but anyway. i love this shot. it would be the perfect end to a wedding album because it shows them in a peaceful mood just taking in each others presence. a very romantic portrait in my opinion. :)

And I completely agree about the wedding album finish. I'm looking forward to putting that together.
