+ Mmmmm. While the Porsche may not be my all time favorite car, I still enjoy a good photo when it presents itself. Under normal circumstances, this shot would've been rather bland and/or traditional. But thanks to the Lens Baby (shown first w/ "November Showers"), this took on a bit more life. The shot could still be better, though. I think I focus too much on the corner/headlights in general. While glass and plastic cases can look great, there are other areas of the car to accent and focus on. Thoughts?

+ Edit: Used the "KPD Hollywood Intensity" Action to add a soft, bright glow. Then used the "KevX-process Combo" action to get the bluish contrast going. Slight vignette around the edges added.

+ Enjoy!

Critiques

:iconforeignconcepts:
I love how you've used the action filter in this. The way it's positioned, the headlight and fender are the only things that come out sharply. Since this is a 996, it's appropriate to draw attention to the headlight - my reasoning being that this generation of 911 was so groundbreaking at the time, it makes sense to accentuate one of the "non traditional" elements that drew both praise and disdain from Porsche owners and enthusiasts alike (but you probably already knew that!).

The only downside is that by focusing on the fender and headlight area, you lose the Porsche crest on the hood in the filter. Meh, it's a catch 22, I wouldn't fault you for it.

Love the idea here! But "While the Porsche may not be my all time favorite car" -- that is wrong. Die and implode.

But yeah, the focus is a touch too extreme, I think. Maybe try one with the camera close to the ground and looking up at the front, yanno, so it looks massive and impressive and stuff.

the way the blur is it makes me feel like the car's zooming by and somehow you were just able to get a photo of it frozen in time for a second. :) I'm w/you on the porsche not being my favorite car...I wouldn't turn down a free one, but I'd probably trade it in for something else.

chicadarina: I'm still working on the mission you placed me on. I know you like more of the Alias type. (And by Alias, I mean Michael Vartan)

Why's Santa Claus so jolly? Because he's got 3 ho's. :D
What are you talking about :eyepopping:!? This is a brilliant photo! Wonderful vibrant colors, and the lense baby effect is amazing! It looks like your capturing it as it's going into a turn or something at high speeds... Truely amazing. I see you used your lense baby with a canon, I would like to know what make/model your lense baby is because my google search didn't bring any good results.

I'm loving that you focused on the headlight, because it's like the eye of the car. And therefore, I see this picture as a one of a pirate car! ARRR! :pirate:

I thought the focus on the headlight was kind of cool, but maybe the logo or the tire would be a cool shot as well.

*love* this! I like the way that (to me) the blurry lines make it look like it's moving really fast... but the detail on the headlamp is great =D Definite :+fav:
